The way to Lilli's heart is... through her stomach?

Actually, that's probably not that far from the truth... The Sophisticate wooed me with fabulous restaurants, so there's probably a kernel of truth to it, but actually it's this new belt from City Chic that's set my heart aflutter today.

It was an exercise in impulse buying when I saw it in the shop last weekend. Theoretically I'd gone in to check out the new polkadot jacket I'd spotted online, but somehow this made its way into my shopping list as well. 

It's elasticised, so it's a great waist belt, and I'm looking forward to seeing what other outfits I can pair it with for that all-important pop of red.

Meanwhile, I've dusted off my favourite Schuh shoes, but they're really looking quite fragile now. Schuh doesn't seem to be making this style any more alas, and I'm trying to draw out the life span of the shoes, because I LUFF them, but I'm thinking about whether or not it's possible to hand them off to a shoemaker and ask them to make the same shoe for me IN ALL THE COLOURS OF THE RAINBOW (but mostly red). Anyone ever had this done?

I had a few plans for Sunday... The markets to get some supplies for the coming week, a trip to a fabric store to get some supplies for the first Frugal February Remix, eBay posting, laundry, baking...

Well, best laid plans: the most strenuous thing I've done all day is spilling The Sophisticate's excellent coffee all over my lap earlier in the morning.

Never mind.

I hope you all had as restful weekend as I did - see you all tomorrow, when that relaxed look on my face will be well and truly wiped off!

Excuse the dozy look on my face, won't you? I spent most of the day mooching about at the Sophisticate's inner-city pad avoiding the housework & paperwork waiting for me at home.

It's so nice to have a quiet weekend where I don't have a single thing planned - I kind of feel like it'd been all go-go-go since the beginning of the year.

In my spare moments this week I've been preparing things for a big eBay sale, and I'm just about ready to start posting, so stay tuned.

I feel a bit like I'm channelling Minnie Mouse today, but because this Evans skirt was so much more serious than I thought it would be, I really wanted something to team it with something fun. And what's more fun that red-and-white polkadots?

I've never before owned anything from Evans (www.evans.co.uk) as they've only recently started shipping to Australia. I actually bought this navy blue bubble skirt off eBay, and expected it to be somewhere closer to my knees than my ankles, but my (extremely rudimentary) sewing skills aren't quite up to shortening a bubble hem, so it is what it is! I'm quite pleased with the quality, and now that I've got my size down pat, I might give a whirl to buying something off the website next time.

A closer inspection (you can see them in her shop, or on her blog: http://dailydream-dailydoodle.blogspot.com) shows them to be a pair of poppies made from gorgeous vintage beads in my favourite scarlet with oxidised silver stamen. She's got one or two pairs still available in her shop, but they sell quickly, so if you like the look of them ignore the miserable exchange rate and snap them up pronto, or you're likely to be disappointed
