Frockapalooza: Day 1 - An Education

Shoes: Zu

This is my version of the enviable look sported by Carey Mulligan in the film An Education, which I saw a few weeks ago and which left me craving vintage frocks and beehive hairdos.
I've bodgied up my own bob into a close approximation with a few hairpins and elastic bands, but I'm pretty happy with the effect.

Love the colors on the dress. And you are inspiring me to possibly cut bangs into my hair, which I haven't done in many years. You look lovely.

I love the dress, how do you get your hair to do that?

Total hotness. That's a really well structured dress, and really flattering! Your hair is divine!

LOL, thanks Sally :)

It's a great dress, isn't it Morgan? So glad I splurged on it!

Aw, thanks Michelle! Now, if only I could act as well as Carey Mulligan!

Thanks m. :)

LOL @ Fiona - you should've seen the hair from the back! Carey's looked MUCH more professional!

Thanks Frumpy, Jessica & Emily :)

Sarah R - I'm loving the bangs, though they do tend to get a bit messy on hot & windy days.

Thanks Kelly!

Sofia, I put the top half up into a ponytail then sat it forward and pinned it to create the rise, then I brought the rest of the hair up and pinned in back. It's a bit of a disaster from the back (let's just say - I took it down again before I left the house!), but it'll do until my hair's properly long enough to do a french roll again. I'm actually toying with the idea of investing in some bumpits once it's grown out to my shoulders...

Thankyou Veronica :) It's not quite up to your standard yet! Practice, practice!

L, you now need to embrace the idea of the ADORABLE HAIRCLIP. Remember that deer clip that some lovely person got me for my birthday? That's exactly the kind of thing you stick on the back of your head - that or flowers - when the back doesn't suit the front. (Because it's all about the front anyway, though distraction in the back is helpful.
