Lilli, why not make yourself a necklace like one you posted? I've got a heap of DIY projects bookmarked, including this one http://ohsohappytogether.blogspot.com/2009/05/ruffle-necklace-tutorial.html I'm sure you could do two contrasting ones and sew them together... and you could make the seam smaller as well.
